Obituary for Ann Marie Young
Ann Marie Young, 66, of Hudson, NH, died Thursday, July 14, 2016, at Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. Ann Marie was born September 1, 1949, in Boston, MA, the daughter of William O’Bryan and Barbara (Cunning) O’Bryan.
Ann Marie held a Master’s Degree in Psychology and worked as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) at Keystone Hall in Nashua, NH. She was the widow of Bruce Young.
Ann Marie loved working at Keystone Hall, helping people to overcome their addictions. She was very proud of being an LADC and saved many lives over her career. Ann Marie was a very strong, independent woman and a free spirit who accomplished more in her lifetime alone than many couples accomplish together. She was a loving mother and an amazing nanny. Family was her great love. Ann Marie also loved to sing and dance and enjoyed the beach, antique shops, and her cat, Prettygirl.
Ann Marie is survived by 3 daughters, Charissa Alanurm and her husband Rick, of Hudson, NH, Laura Hooper and her husband Tim, of Wilton, NH, and Shannon Chamberlain of Hillsboro, NH; 6 brothers, William, Johnny, Vicky, Jimmy, Ronny, and Joe O’Bryan; 3 sisters, Barbara Jean Young, Ruthie Nadeau, and Debbie O’Bryan; and 2 grandchildren, the lights of her life, Ryan Hooper and Samantha Hooper.
Ann Marie was predeceased by her husband, Bruce Young, and by her brother, Bobby O’Bryan.
