Obituary for David Wayne Glines
David Glines, 72, a lifelong resident of Wilton, NH passed away on May 31st at his home with Jane, his wife of nearly fifty years, by his side.
Dave married his high school sweetheart in 1972. At that time, he also started his own excavation business, Glines Construction, which he successfully operated for over twenty years. Continuing with his entrepreneurial spirit, Dave founded Intervale Machinery and Supply and became the owner of a Pepperidge Farm route. He ran the "cookie" route with his buddy Gizmo for 10 years before retiring at the early age of 58.
Dave strongly believed in public service and giving back to his community. Among various other volunteer efforts, he donated his construction services to the building of the tennis courts at Goss Park and a playground at the Wilton Elementary School. He spent the better part of his adult life providing service to the town of Wilton, namely as a planning board member and as a selectperson. He had a lifelong love of antique trucks and collecting treasures of questionable value.
David is survived by his wife Jane; his son Jeremy Glines (wife, Carey) of Amherst, NH; his daughter, Shannon Garwich (husband, Chris) of Kingfield, ME; and his three grandchildren Carter, Emerson, and Harper Glines of Amherst, NH.
Services will be private.
Those wishing to honor Dave are welcome to donate in his name to a charity of their choosing.
