Obituary for Elaine M. Mallows
Elaine M. Mallows, 73, of Wilton, NH, died Thursday, February 11, 2016, at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 26, 1942, the daughter of Bernard M. Gibbons Sr. and Gabrielle (Bergeron) Gibbons. Elaine was a lifelong resident of Wilton, NH. She graduated from Mount Saint Mary Seminary in Nashua, NH. Elaine married her husband, Allen J. Mallows, Jr., on Feb. 11, 1961 and their family soon followed.
Elaine worked for the Wilton Post Office for 19 years and was very proud of her job as a rural mail carrier. She loved animals and horses. She was a big sports fan and followed all of the national football teams and baseball teams especially cheering on her beloved Patriots. She always made time go to all of her sons' sports games when they were in high school and college.
Elaine’s love for her family and grandchildren was evident by her warm smile and heartfelt welcome. She provided an inviting home to all and took pride as a working mother and homemaker. She loved all of her siblings and enjoyed many family events including weddings, anniversaries and birthdays. Her favorite times were sharing fellowship, laughs and good food at family gatherings. She made many good friends over the years.
Family and friends are warmly welcome to calling hours on Friday, February 26, 2016, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm, in the Michaud Funeral Home Chapel, 32 Maple Street, Wilton, NH.
A Liturgy Mass will be celebrated in the Michaud Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00am, 32 Maple Street, Wilton, NH, on Saturday, February 27, 2016. Burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wilton, NH, in the spring along with a Memorial Mass at Saint Kathryn Parish, Hudson, NH.
