Obituary for Francis E. Desrosiers
Francis ‘Des’ E. Desrosiers, 73, of Greenville, NH passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 9, 2022, in Portsmouth NH after a brief illness. He was born July 5, 1948, in Peterborough, NH to parents Emile and Jeanne (Pelletier) Desrosiers. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Rhea (Vaillancourt) Desrosiers of Greenville, NH; his sons Brian Desrosiers of Gilford, NH; James Desrosiers and his wife Tammy of Peterborough, NH; his daughter Lisa Milien and her husband Morales of Melrose, MA; his brother Paul Desrosiers of Keene, NH; his grandchildren Collin Desrosiers of Center Tuftonborough, NH; Jaylyn Trow of Bennington, NH; Madelyn Desrosiers of Peterborough, NH; Ronan Mahoney of Melrose, MA; his great grandchildren, Gabriel and Blake Trow; as well as several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother Richard Desrosiers. Des served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war where he was stationed in Korea. He went on to work as a machinist for many years at both NH Ball Bearing in Peterborough, NH and NEBS in Townsend, MA. He was a kind soul who loved to make everyone laugh. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his family. He enjoyed fishing Lake Ontario in NY with his friend Captain Lou and Lou’s wife Eunice. He loved the ocean where his family held a seasonal camping spot at Tidewater Campground in Hampton, NH. He was an avid sports fan. He was a huge fan of the NY Yankees as well as the Patriots, Celtics, and Bruins. He was also very interested in politics and loved to debate with his friend Butch. Des was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greenville, the American Legion in Greenville, and the VFW in Townsend, MA.
Family and friends are warmly welcomed to attend a funeral mass at Sacred Heart Church, 15 High St Greenville, NH, on Saturday April 30, 2022, at 11 am followed by a burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery, with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to either the American Stroke Association or the Brain Injury Association.
