Obituary for George Hyde Westbrook
George H. Westbrook, 64, of Wilton, N.H., died March 5th, 2019 due to health complications at Lahey Hospital in Burlington, M.A. George was born in New Haven, CT in 1954 to Lloyd and Jane Westbrook before moving to Marblehead M.A., where he spent much of his youth.
He went on to attend Marblehead High School and Pingree School before heading to Northeastern and Boston Architectural College. George worked at MassDesign in Cambridge, M.A. where he met his wife, Mizzy Boyle. They married on June 7th, 1985, and had one daughter.
George was a problem solver through and through, as evidenced by his success in the field of electrical and mechanical design engineering. He had a number of additional passions, such as painting and glassblowing. George especially loved trains and railways, and the link to history they provided. He enjoyed connecting with community and the extensive circles of friends he leaves behind illustrates this.
He is survived by his daughter, Tanzy Boyle-Westbrook. A celebration of George’s life will be held on April 28th, 2019, at Cathedral of the Pines in Rindge, N.H.
