Obituary for Gregory Cook
Gregory A. Cook, 74, of Milford, NH, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on October 24, 2018, at Southern NH Medical Center, in Nashua, NH. He was born on December 27, 1943, the son of Austin W. Cook and Dorothy (Richardson) Cook.
Gregory resided in Chelmsford, MA, where he graduated from Chelmsford High School in 1961. He joined the Army National Guard and was stationed at Fort Ord in Monterey, CA, as a cook. After returning home, he met the love of his life, Ellen Smith. They were married on November 1, 1970. They moved to Milford, NH in 1977, where they spent a blissful 41 years raising their children Karen and Kevin.
Greg was president of the Purgatory Fish and Game Club during the 1980’s, loved crossword puzzles, thoroughly enjoyed trivia and often regaled his six grandchildren with stories of his adventures as a young man and the cars he owned. One of the things Greg most enjoyed was getting in the car with his family and taking trips to see foliage or just ending up wherever the wind may take them. He was very thankful for what he had and most especially, the people in his life.
Greg is survived by his loving wife, Ellen, of nearly 48 years; his daughter, Karen Bearce and her husband, Matt, and their children, Kailyn and Jacob; his son, Kevin and his partner, Karen Coulon, and their children, Skylar, Andi, Camden and Everly; his sisters, Prudence Amick, of OR, and Deborah Chang, of CT; his sister-in-law, Lucy Cook, of CA, and a multitude of extremely loving extended family. Greg was predeceased by his parents and his brother Alan.
Please do not send flowers. Greg was very grateful to the Milford Fire Department and the Milford Ambulance Service and would have been overjoyed to have a donation made in his name to these amazing places. Milford Fire Department, 39 School Street, Milford, NH, 03055; Milford Ambulance Service, 66 Elm Street, Milford, NH, 03055
There will be no services. All are warmly welcome to a Celebration of Life that will be held on November, 3, 2018, from 11am-2pm, at the Masonic Temple, 30 Mont Vernon Street, Milford, NH.
