Obituary for Jarrod Mark LeComte
Jarrod Mark LeComte (known to some as “J-Rod”), 44, passed away peacefully in his sleep, on November 25th, 2017, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH, after a long and courageous struggle with Type 1 Diabetes. He was born March 23, 1973, in Worcester, MA.
Jarrod was a 1991 graduate of St. Bernard’s Central Catholic School in Fitchburg, MA. He received an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner, MA, in 1998, as well as graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Plymouth State University in Plymouth, NH, in 2000.
Jarrod had a true passion for bicycling, as well as repairing and building bikes from parts. He enjoyed hiking/biking with his dogs Pokey (his “favorite blonde”, now at the Rainbow Bridge) and Ripley. Jarrod loved going to the movies- every viewing was required to include both popcorn and Junior Mints mixed together, without question. But his all-time favorite food was pizza.
He loved the outdoors and camping as a child with his family. Jarrod worked as a Private Investigator before becoming ill- he enjoyed his job as it was never the same day twice; especially the fact that he could bring his dog with him on every case. Jarrod had a heart of pure gold- one day while out investigating, he called Lauren to tell her that he had found a cat (Gremlin) that someone had carelessly dumped outside which then quickly became a part of their family. Jarrod enjoyed playing video games, science fiction movies and was a huge Stephen King fan, collecting all of his books and movies. He had a wicked and twisted sense of humor which endeared him to most, especially his wife.
Jarrod is survived by his loving wife Lauren, devoted parents, Lynn Howard and Roger LeComte, with stepmother Pia, identical twin brother Jeremy LeComte with wife Amy, little brothers, Ryan and Adam LeComte, and little sister Makaylah Howard. He is also survived by grandparents Edward “Gramps” and Marlene Crawford, “Grandpa John” LeComte, Uncle Mark LeComte and wife Lori, his niece Hannah LeComte, and nephews Gabe LeComte, Tristan LeComte, Graham Shea and Aiden Josefowitch. He'll be missed by his in-laws - Jan & Robert Gardner, Robin & James Shea, and Jennifer & Jay Josefowitch. He also leaves behind his dog Ripley and cats Lucky & Gremlin.
Donations in Jarrod’s memory may kindly be made to Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, MA- the place where he found and adopted his good friend Ripley.
Rest in peace our sweet husband, son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew and friend- we love you! xoxo
