Obituary for JoAnn Lavoie
JoAnn Lavoie, 69, of New Ipswich NH, formerly of Nashua, NH, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, March 9th, 2022, after courageously battling pulmonary fibrosis.
JoAnn was born in Lowell, MA on October 7th, 1952 to the late Clara (Gravel) and Robert Kerr Jeffery. JoAnn was one of seven children and lived in Dunstable, MA for many years. She often spoke in fondness of her childhood growing up on a farm. JoAnn worked at BAE Systems for nearly three decades. Later in life, she had the privilege of providing loving care to those in need, not the least of which was her late, beloved husband, Ronald Guy Lavoie.
There was never a soul that JoAnn met that she would not befriend, whether they be two legged or four. She loved all of her animals, and everyone else's for that matter. In her spare time, JoAnn enjoyed gardening, fishing, crocheting, scrapbooking, and the Red Sox. Her television always played her favorite soap operas, and she loved to read a good novel. If you had a conversation with JoAnn, you can be sure she would mention her grandchildren, and her animals.
JoAnn is survived by her son Richard Lavoie of Shirley, MA, and his long time girlfriend Frances Wilkins. She is also survived by her daughter Monique Arseneau of Milford, NH, and her husband Adam Arseneau. One of JoAnn’s greatest joys in life was her five grandchildren, Alexander Hall-Lavoie, Emma Hall-Lavoie, Mason Arseneau, Madelyn Arseneau, and Ryan Arseneau. She is further survived by her siblings Carol Smith and her husband Michael of Delaware, John Jeffery and his wife Claire of Royalston, MA, James Jeffery and his wife Dessie of Pepperell, MA, William Jeffery and his wife Terry of Merrimack, NH, Rosemary Sanborn and her husband Donald of New Boston, NH, and her sister-in-law Anne Jeffery of Dracut, MA, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Family and friends are welcome to pay their respects at a Celebration of Life Ceremony to be held on Saturday, April 9th, 2022, at 10:00am at River of Life Christian Fellowship, located at 9 Route 101A, in Amherst, NH.
