Obituary for Matthew David Scott
Matthew David Scott passed away peacefully after contracting Covid-19. Matt fought for seven days in the ICU at Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH but eventually succumbed to the illness on the afternoon of April 29th 2020
Matt was born in Methuan, MA on May 6, 1976 and was truly a sweet and kind child who never outgrew those traits. Despite the physical hardship of having Juvenile Psoriatic Arthritis starting at the age of 11. Matt had a great childhood in Lowell filled with family and friends and many activities including his lifelong passion for cars and music.
Hoping the warmer weather would help with his worsening condition, after graduating from Lowell Technical School Matt moved with his father to Sandford, FL in 1997. Despite the excellent care he received, Matt missed the beauty of New England but especially the closeness of his family and moved to Wilton, NH in 2000 to be with his mother and youngest sister. Matt took great joy in being an uncle and loved his nieces and nephews beyond words.
Matt is predeceased by his maternal grandparents Lawrence Landry and Marguerite Blouin, his paternal grandfather Walter Allen Scott, and maternal aunt Sue Landry.
He is survived by his maternal grandmother Marion Jean Scott in Naples, FL, his mother Paula Landry Scott Long term resident of Wilton, NH, his father Gary Wayne Scott and step-mother Carmen Scott who reside in Oshkosh, WI, and his sisters Melissa Jean Scott of Lowell, MA and Jennifer Marie Hill of Wilton NH. In addition to his immediate family he will be missed by uncles Daniel Mark Scott (Rachael) Of Westminster VT, Donald Ray Scott (Kathy) of Harrisville NH, and Kenny Landry (Cathy) along with cousins Kyle Landry (Jessica), Sonia Scott, Emma Saunders (Adam), Samantha Scott, Michael Scott, Sarah Scott, and Caitlin Scott of Keene, NH.
Family was everything to Matt and he is lastly survived by his nieces and nephews Alyx, Kraven, Wyatt, Tabitha, Emmily, and Nathan.
Matt will be immensely missed and never forgotten by his family and friends and the family of nurses and caretakers at Crestwood Rehabilitation Center in Milford NH where he resided for over ten years. We especially want to thank Linda and Linette for everything they have done for Matthew over the years.
We are especially grateful to the doctors and staff at Elliot Hospital for their excellent care and for their willingness to allow his sister Jennifer to hold Matt’s hand during his transition. We know many families did not get that opportunity during these times and this kindness will never be forgotten. To all the nurses who ever cared for our beloved Matt.... we say THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts.
