Obituary for Michael J Hannigan Jr.
Michael J. Hannigan, Jr., 80, of Wilton, NH, passed away under hospice care, Friday, September 1, 2017, at the Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough, NH. He was born November 22, 1936 in Milford, MA, the son of Michael J. Hannigan, Sr., and Muriel (Brown) Hannigan. Michael had married his loving wife, Anne B. (Martin) on June 13, 1998. He loved being a home-body and taking care of his family, garden, and house. He enjoyed sitting on his front porch watching the people and cars go by while he smoked his cigar. He was a member of Pinnacle Mountain Gun Club in Lyndeborough, NH. He was an avid Bruins fan, hunter and fisherman. His four friends were Eric Olsen, Lyle Kelvington, Dana Davis, and Robert Cole. Michael enjoyed traveling, going to the Caribbean and Canada. Michael was a United States Airforce veteran, serving as an Airman First Class, Strategic Air Command, stationed in South Dakota. He had worked for BAE systems, Raytheon, and the Milford, NH, and Wilton, NH, police departments. Michael is survived by his wife, Anne Hannigan, of Wilton, NH; his son, Michael J. Hannigan, III, and his wife Margaret, of Wilton, NH; his three daughters, Kathleen Larpenter, and her husband, Bryan, of Wilton, NH, Margaret Olsen, of Wilton, NH, and Mary Edigo, and her husband Keith, of Lyndeborough, NH; his sister, Maureen Lussier of Bradenton, FL; his eight grandchildren, Patrick, David, Cassandra, Marissa, Michael IV, Marty, Matthew, and Mark; his nine great-grandchildren, James, Timothy, Robert, Aiden, Elias, Lilly, Matthew, Ashlyn, and Calyb; and his daughter-in-law, Kaye Hannigan. He was predeceased by his son, James L. Hannigan and predeceased by his first wife Deanna Hannigan. In lieu of flowers, Michael and his family would like any donations to be made to the Pinnacle Mountain Gun Club of Lyndeborough, NH, 289 Cemetery Road, Lyndeborough, NH, 03082.
