Obituary for Myrtie Kullgren
Myrtie Kullgren, 94, of Temple, NH, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018. She was born on September 11, 1923, in Stewartstown, NH, the daughter of the late Walter Flanders and Alice (Brooks) Flanders. Myrtie’s passion in life was to be a first grade teacher. She taught three years in Lime, one year in Temple, one year in Hollis, five years in New Ipswich, and finally twenty eight years in Peterborough. At Myrtie’s retirement party, it was announced that the area inside Peterborough Elementary School, where she taught for twenty eight years, will be named the “Myrtie Kullgren Early Childhood Wing” in her honor. Myrtie was a long time member of the Congregational Church where she was a deaconess and sang in the choir. Myrtie loved the Temple Drama Club. She loved the family cabin on Lake Umbagog, in Errol, NH. She also loved camping and traveling, and for 25 years wintering in Florida. Most important was her family! Myrtie is survived by her son Brian Kullgren, and his wife Joyce, of Temple, NH; her daughter in-law, Sheila Kullgren; her grandchildren, Bruce Kullgren, Jr., Aaron Kullgren, Hillary Chapin, Lilah Barlow, Joe Weston, Krystle Beckmann, and Kyle Kullgren; her great-grandchildren, Emily, Josh, Matthew, Jason, Cooper, Ellora, Ashlyn, and Zeke. Myrtie is predeceased by her husband, Harold Kullgren, her son Bruce Kullgren, and her brothers Robert Flanders, Walter Flanders, Jr., and Jesse Young. Services will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at 10:00am at the Temple Congregational Church, 17 Main St., Temple, NH. Her place of rest will be at a later date at the family cemetery, The Hollow Cemetery, in Stewartstown, NH.
