She studied at the University of the Philippines, College of Music and went on to be one of Manila’s renowned jazz singers during the 1970’s and 80’s. As a lead singer of the Batucada band with Bong Penera, her signature song, “Samba Song” hit the international charts and heard in jazz stations to this day. Norma will be remembered as a lover of music, service animals and above all her deep love for her nephews and nieces Pat and Tanya Byrne, Mike Byrne, Marliese Bosch Pinzon, Nadine Bosch, Mark and Danielle Ranno. Her brother, Peter's children, Stephanie, Scott, Alisandra,Sebastian, Sol Beatriz Ana and Peter Jr. She is survived by her siblings and their spouses, Maria Byrne Peterson (Dan Peterson) Peter A. Ramirez ( Barbara ) and Gina Ramirez Ranno ( Richard). Kind hearted, upbeat in spite of her medical condition, loved her family, friends and people who helped care for her soo much. Her family has a huge void in their hearts.

Her family will be holding an intimate gathering for Norma privately in New Hampshire. A catholic mass will be offered for the repose of her soul at St. Ignatius, West Palm Bach, FL at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to NEADS, National Education for Assistance Dog Services, an organization that brought Norma her beloved service dogs, Sasquatch and Cozy.
