Renate also had many years of restaurant service at Parker’s Maple Barn in Mason, Old Railroad Station Snack Bar, and Yankee Doodler Restaurant in Brookline. She belonged to the Lyndeborough Gatherers Club, and had also served as their treasurer and was a longtime volunteer for MADD. Renate enjoyed spending her time gardening, bird watching, baking, canning jams, crocheting, reading, making red cabbage, traveling, and shopping. Her favorite places to travel were Iceland and Germany. She loved taking family trips to Maine and the Cape. Renate is survived by her daughter, Janet Bernhardt, and her husband, Jay, of Kellogg, ID sons, Mark Weissflog, and his wife, Diane, of Lyndeborough, NH, Andy Weiss and his wife, Lisa, of Nashua, NH, Martin Weissflog, and his wife, Laura, of Glenmoore, PA; her brother, Alfred Ernest, Jr., and his wife, Rita, of Germany; her sister, Barbel Thoss, and her husband, Fred, of Germany; her grandchildren, Tobias, Stephanie, Tanya, Tyler, Orion, Nichole, Donny, Brandon, David, John, and Eric; her great-grandchildren, Esme, Charlotte, Lily, Sophia, Hermione, Will, Olivia, Emily, Hunter, Jayce, and Amber.
