Roger H. Williams died suddenly at his home in Mason, NH, on September 28, 2016. Roger was born January 16, 1945, in New York, NY, and grew up in Newton, MA. He enlisted in the Army in the early 1960’s and served during the start of the Vietnam War.
At the age of 37 Roger went back to school and attended East Coast Aero Tech, graduating in 1982 as a certified airplane mechanic. He was also a skilled electro - mechanical technician. His last job before retiring in 2011 was with Scheidt & Bachmann located in Burlington, MA. Here he constructed the ticket machines (for Charlie cards) used in Boston and other metropolitan public transportation systems.
Roger loved to travel, especially on his Triumph or BMW motorcycle. He reached his goal of visiting all 50 states by the age of 50. In retirement he was a member of the Granite State BMW Riders and enjoyed restoring a 1978 Bombardier sidewalk plow.
Roger is survived by his wife of 38 years, Cheryl (Lincoln) Williams; his sisters, Nancy Harris of Merrickville, ONT, Kathleen Williams of Jaffrey, NH, Sheila Williams of Harrisville, NH; and 12 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Stone Williams, his mother, Peggy (Pratt) Williams, and sister, Margherite Williams.
A funeral service is scheduled for 10am on October 3, 2016, at Michaud Funeral Home, 32 Maple St., Wilton, NH, followed by burial at the Pine Hill Cemetery in Peterborough, NH.
