Obituary for Ruth E. Balcom
Ruth Eleanor Balcom, 95, of Nashua, NH, passed Thursday, March 26, 2020 surrounded by loved ones. She was born October 29, 1924, in Milford, NH, to parents Joseph and Cora Ann (Jalbert) LaPonsie. Ruth graduated from Milford High School, then during WW2 she worked at the Grenier Air Force Base, helping out here on the home front. She went on to marry the love of her life the late Pierre Balcom on November 9, 1946, and they lived a full life together until his passing in October of 1978. She worked many jobs throughout the years and didn’t retire until she was 70. Ruth was a great mom and grandmother and was very dedicated to her family. She always looked forward to anytime they spent together whether it was the holidays or just a normal day. She will be deeply missed. Ruth is survived by her daughters, Trudy Yelton and her husband Don of Nashua, NH, Wendy Huckins and her husband Greg of Weare, NH, Kathy Eckles and her husband Blaine of Nashua, NH; her grandchildren, Jeffery Yelton, Aimee Pelletier, Leah Mason, Sarah Parker, Brandy Fiore; her great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Englehardt, Mackenzie Baum, Hallie Parker, Tyler Parker, and Christian, Connor and Charlie Fiore. She is predeceased by her sisters, Edna Estes, Evelyn Thompson, Nina Gagne, and Mildred Cross and her brother Richard LaPonsie. At this time, a private family mass will be held, followed by a burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Wilton, NH.
