Obituary for Shirley L. Martin
Shirley Lenore Martin, 84, a loving mother, Grammy and great grandmother, Gram Gram, passed away on June 12, 2020, with family by her side. She was born in Cressona, Pennsylvania on June 20, 1935, a daughter of the late Edith and Augustus Onavage. She was one of 11 children. Shirley loved her family and enjoyed baking her applesauce raisin cookies and apple cake for family gatherings and she was known for her famous potato salad. She was an exceptional Scrabble player and loved to play Bingo, Yahtzee and Uno. She was an avid Red Sox and New England Patriots fan and looked forward to watching all the games with family. Shirley enjoyed a good cup of coffee, Chinese food, and the Weather Channel. She is survived by her children; Brian Whalon, Sue and her husband Steve McNally, Sandy and Scott Simons , Sherry Whalon, Roger Whalon, Christopher Martin, Jason Martin; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; her sister, Rhea Williams; her brother, Roland Onavage; and two brother in laws, Jim Trudeau and Paul Lazarchick. A Celebration of Life will be held in September and burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Milford, NH.
