David A. Maki Sr., 78, of New Ipswich, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully surrounded by his
family at Monadnock Community Hospital, January 1, 2017. He was born in New Ipswich, New
Hampshire on October 4, 1938, son of the late George and Helen (Hill) Maki.
David was proud to have served in the U.S Army, until 1965 and was a Vietnam Veteran. David
worked many years in construction. Previous employers include Seppala and Aho Contruction and
Prime Roofing both in New Ipswich, NH. He was a skilled roofer, and did so for most of his life. He
was known for his incredible sense of humor and compassion for others. David loved fishing,
especially, with his children and grandchildren whom he loved unconditionally. He also enjoyed
tinkering on cars with his brothers, western films, country and gospel music, among other various
hobbies. Most importantly David enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
David is survived by his wife Julie Maki. They were married on February 4, 1966. David is survived
by his son David Maki Jr. of Homosassa, FL., and is predeceased by his son Theodore Maki. He is
survived by three daughters, Sheila Morse of Dublin, NH, Wendy LaBelle and her husband James Sr
of Antrim, NH, and Tammy Spoon of New Ipswich, NH, and he is predeceased by his daughter
Beverly Maki. David is survived by brothers, Roy Maki of New Ipswich, NH, and Wayne Maki of
Bennington, NH, and is predeceased by his brother George Maki Jr. He is survived by his sisters,
Sylvia Lawrence of New Ipswich, NH, Naomi Stone of Greenville, NH, and Ruth Brouilette of New
Ipswich, NH, and is predeceased by his sisters, Dorothy White and Lorraine Desrosiers.
David was blessed with his grandchildren, James LaBelle Jr., Teverly LaBelle, Daniel Spezzaferri,
Grace Poitras, Alden Powers, Jetta Spoon, Rayna Spoon, Autumn Spoon, Kearney Spoon, Cory
(William) Spoon Jr, Cameron Maki, Cale Maki, and Candence Maki.
