Ray A. Hanson, 68, of Hollis, NH, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017, at his home. He was born December 2, 1948, in Boston, MA, the son of Howard and Shirley (Hackenson) Hanson.
Ray worked as a sales manager at Boston Bed Company in Boston, MA. Family was very important to Ray. He loved to spoil his grandchildren and was known for his good sense of humor. He was a collector and an oil painting artist. Ray loved to cook; some would say he was a food connoisseur. He enjoyed Sunday drives, fresh water fishing, and was an outdoors enthusiast. Ray loved his Boston sports teams, especially the Boston Red Sox. Ray was a big lover of all kinds of music, and was a former Mason.
Ray is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Diane (Scannell) Hanson, of Hollis, NH; his son, Nathan W. Hanson, of Hollis, NH; his daughters, Christine Duncan, of Brockton, MA, and Tamara Gunnis, and her husband, Scott, of N. Chelmsford, MA; his brother, Robert C. Hanson, of CA; his sister, Linda C. Hanson, of Norwood, MA; his father-in-law, John O. Scannell; his grandchildren, Olivia, Haylee, Alex, Leif, and Raven; and his many nieces and nephews.
