Obituary for Claribel E Clapper
Claribel (Drew) Clapper of Greenville, NH died peacefully on May 29, 2022, with her family at her side. She was 92 years old.

She was born in Belmont NH to Harold and Gladys Drew. Growing up in the Great Depression, she learned early on the value of hard work. She spent time working at the Columbian Mill, Tricnit Industries, and the Temple Inn. In her spare time, Claribel enjoyed road trips to see more of the USA. Some of her favorite places were Oregon (where her brother lives), Pennsylvania and New York (to visit the canals), and Maine (she loved the ocean and wild blueberries). One of her favorite things to do was go for Sunday drives down roads she’d never been on. It was always an adventure!

Claribel was a woman of many hobbies. She had the best green thumb and could make any plant grow. She loved working in her garden in the summer and always had a bounty of vegetables to enjoy. She was also great at sewing, knitting, and crocheting. Her family benefitted from her hobbies by receiving many homemade quilts, dresses, hats, and stuffed animals, among many other items. But her best skill was baking. Claribel was always the designated dessert maker for family gatherings. She had dozens of cookbooks but would always scour her magazines and newspapers for more recipes.

Throughout her life, the most important thing to Claribel was her family, especially her two daughters. While they were growing up, there were always family outings and big Sunday dinners. Later in her life, she enjoyed supporting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren by going to see plays, concerts, and ballgames. Claribel was always happiest when her family was around her.

Claribel was predeceased by her loving husband of 65 years Melvin Clapper, her four brothers Ralph, Everett, Leslie, and Richard, and a sister Beulah. She is survived by her brother Ernest Drew and his wife Pauline, daughters Gladys Alix and her husband George, and Rhonda Scroggins and her husband Ben, and her grandchildren Richard Alix and his wife Karen, Katrina Alix, and Joshua Alix and his wife Heather. She also has four great-grandchildren Zachary, Fiona, Emerson, and Zoey. At Claribel’s request, a burial service was held privately at the Miler Cemetery in Temple NH.
